Magic of Christmas Exhibition & Sale November 19, 2011 - January 2, 2012 Join us for our month-long Grand Opening Celebration! A wonderful hand-painted expression of the holiday season plus lots of demonstrations, special art and craft classes, drawings, discounts and give-aways! The sale features the artwork of sixteen New England area artists, all members of the White Mountain Decorative Painters Guild, a local chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters. Many of these items have been created and donated to raise funds for the educational and philanthropic works of the Guild. Friday, November 25 Get ahead of the crowd! Preview the exhibition and our classes for Saturday. See the finished projects in the shop and sign-up before your favorite classes are filled! Saturday, November 26 Opening Reception - Meet the Artists 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Refreshments, drawings, demonstrations, discounts (50% off on paint sets and open-stock brushes). First 50 purchases ($10.00 or more) receive a free fairy tale print. FREE demonstrations - Painting on glass, colored pencil techniques, pen and ink, acrylic glazed roses JUST FOR FUN try one of our introductory mini-classes. We will help you get started learning to paint and craft. You will leave with a beautiful finished project. Cost $10.00 (includes class fee and materials) Ages - 11+. Preregistration required. Sign up early as space and materials are limited. 12:30 - 2:00 - New England winter scene painted on a porcelain ornament using pen and ink with oil rouging 1:00 - 2:00 - Stencil and sparkle snow flakes on a mat board frame to dress up your special holiday picture 2:30 - 3:30 - Iris paper folding Christmas card. The Iris Folding technique originated in Holland and gets its name from the fact that the center of the design resembles the iris or eye of a camera. This technique can be used to make greeting cards, on scrapbook pages, or can even be framed and hung on a wall. 4:00 - 5:00 - New England winter scene (see above) 5:00 - 6:00 - Personalize a wooden pendant with your choice of colors and then add the beads to complete a necklace. |
