Level 1 -
Apprentice

In the traditional artist guild, this is
the beginning level. The focus is on introducing the common flower
forms in simple compositions. No previous Zhostovo experience is
required, but an intermediate knowledge of decorative painting techniques is
necessary, as they will not be covered in class. The certification
piece will require painting a relatively simple flower composition using the
stage worksheets.
Level 1 Projects
Level 2 - Associate

The Associate Level focuses on roses and more complex
floral compositions, anticipating familiarity with the
Apprentice techniques. The purpose of this level is to perfect the
skills already learned. The certification project will require
painting a more complex floral composition using the stage worksheets.
Level 2 Projects
Level 3 - Journeyman

The traditional step in preparation for the
Master Level, the Journeyman Level builds on the previous techniques and
introduces Zhostovo fruit techniques and compositions. The
certification project will require painting a fruit composition based only on the
final stage worksheet.
Level 3 Projects
Level 4 - Senior Journeyman

The Senior Journeyman Level requires
mastery of the basic Zhostovo floral and fruit techniques covered in the
previous levels and addresses more complex compositions, the painting of
birds and specialized techniques. The Senior Journeyman project will require
painting a composition from a line drawing and palette description.
Level 4 Projects
Level 5 - Master Painter

The Master Painter Level focuses on
painting animals and scenery. The final project will require painting
a composition from a line drawing.
