Russian Tales & Legends

This book presents a collection of the fairy tales most commonly depicted in the Palekh painting. It includes 17 stories by 19 of the artists that we frequently work with. The use of red and black in the designs was chosen because this is how the students of the Palekh Art School practice their design work. This would normally be done in gold and silver, but because 22K gold is so expensive, the red and black allows practice without the cost.
